Lindsay and Colleen Harder own and operate The Diner at Shorty’s, a hidden gem bursting with charm. 

This retro diner features a car-themed interior filled with memorabilia, creating a laid-back atmosphere perfect for all ages. 

From salads to popcorn shrimp, every dish is made with care and served with a side of nostalgia.

But the real show-stopper is their fish and chips, and it’s no wonder. The pair originally operated the top-rated Pelican Pier Seafood Bar in Calgary’s Eau Claire Market, so they know seafood!

Another Crossfield destination is Stacked Bistro and Bakery, a tiny hidden gem by the talented Debbie Stiles. 

Offering mouthwatering daily specials and homemade delights like Dill Pickle Chowder and the Stacked Burger, Stacked Bistro and Bakery is a haven for hungry travellers. 

With its old-school Rock and Roll theme, this bistro is a favourite spot for many looking for nostalgia.

Owner Debbie Stiles also gives back to the community by operating a food bank right in the Bistro.

“We have a large bin outside that is FULL of fresh produce. It changes all the time! What doesn’t change is that it is completely free,” says Debbie. “Come and grab what you need. When you can, hopefully, you can pay it forward.”
