Love Is In The Air Year-Round In Bragg Creek

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but Bragg Creek is still worth the trip for a romantic getaway

Did you know Bragg Creek, nestled in Rocky View County, made it to Curiocity’s list of Alberta’s most romantic towns!

The tiny hamlet stands tall alongside romantic heavyweights like Banff, Canmore, Jasper, and Waterton.

Bragg Creek isn’t the only picturesque community in the Rockies, with cute shops, cozy restaurants, and forest trails straight out of a fairytale.

So, why is Bragg Creek stealing hearts left and right, even more than popular romantic destinations like Banff?

Sherri Olsen, President of the Bragg Creek Chamber of Commerce, has some thoughts. According to her, being just a hop, skip, and jump away from Calgary is a major selling point.

“It feels like you’re away from it all…so it’s not that hour and a half to bounce to Canmore. I honestly think that’s what gets us a lot of traffic from the Calgary and Edmonton area anyway,” explained Olsen.

And hey, what are the things folks love doing in Banff or Canmore? You can do them in Bragg Creek as well.

And the scenery is just as epic.

So, why drive over an hour and a half to Banff when you can enjoy the same experience close to Calgary?

Perfect for Love Birds

Bragg Creek is ideal for lovebirds who want to enjoy the Rockies without travelling far from the city.

Because of its proximity to Calgary, the hamlet has earned a reputation as the perfect place to take a day trip.

In fact, it is so close that many couples head there midweek, after a work day, for a relaxing nature outing or fine dining.

But the hamlet also makes a great overnight destination. There are many inns and lodges to choose from, including a nature retreat log house, a craftsman home from 1912, and a cabin by the trailheads

The hamlet’s charming downtown is defined by old-log buildings, artisan shops, friendly locals, and scenic green spaces.

A stroll through Bragg Creek offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, giving couples more time to focus on each other.

From learning about stained glass at SunCatchers Design Studio to a romantic horseback ride with Moose Mountain Horseback Adventures, there’s no shortage of couples activities in Bragg Creek.

With all this buzz, the spotlight’s shining bright on Bragg Creek, with Calgary media covering all of the hamlet’s incredible sights and destinations.

And you know what that means? More folks want to see what all the fuss is about.

But for Olsen, who’s been hustling hard to put Bragg Creek on the map, it all boils down to one thing: being close to Calgary.

“I honestly think it’s just proximity. That’s why our home building tagline used to say: far away, close. Ain’t that the truth?” said Olsen.

So, whether planning a romantic getaway or just looking to escape the city hustle, Bragg Creek is the perfect spot to cozy up with your loved one.

Far away, but oh so close!
