The Wild Mountain Music Festival is back this summer, and it’s bringing an amazing lineup of musicians to Hinton.

So get ready for a fun-filled weekend at the Entrance Ranch.

Kicking things off will be the multi-award-winning The Strumbellas. If you’re not familiar, The Strumbellas are three times certified platinum in Canada. They are kind of a big deal! They’re from Lindsay, Ontario, and their music has been described as alternative country, indie rock, farm emo, and gothic folk.

Did I say they’ve won numerous awards, including Juno’s, Much Music Video, Canadian Radio Music and Canadian Radio Music Awards?

“We are so excited to be part of the Wild Mountain lineup this year. We’ve always had an amazing time playing in the region since our early days playing at the Jasper Legion. Can’t wait for the fest this summer,” The Strumbellas told the Fitzhugh.

In addition to The Strumbellas, The Road Hammers will kick things up a notch with some of their hottest hits like Give’r.

When your neck gets sore from head banging, Steve Marriner will slow things down with some soothing tunes from his latest solo album Hope Dies.

Marriner is a renowned blues musician in Canada and was named Toronto Blues Society’s 2023 Harmonica Player of the Year. But when he isn’t riding solo, Marriner is the lead vocalist for MonkeyJunk, a multi-Juno-winning rock band.

Still not slow enough?

Fret not! Folk-rock and alternative country duo Altameda will have you slow dancing under the moonlight. The duo will perform their Juno-nominated Adult Alternative 2023 Album of the Year titled Born Losers.

“Altameda is thrilled to be playing Wild Mountain Music Festival and to be back in their home province of Alberta surrounded by mountains,” the band announced.

These are just some of the incredible musicians the Wild Mountain Music Festival will feature!

If you want a more hands-on experience, the Festival is always looking for volunteers. In fact, the Wild Mountain Music Festival is 100% volunteer-run! So get in touch if you want to help out.

The Festival will have two stages with many exciting performances, food vendors, art vendors and a kids’ area.

If this sounds like fun, tickets are currently available on Eventbrite. Attendees can get a weekend pass that includes camping for $202.40.

The ranch welcomes visitors to pitch a tent or set up a camper. However, if you feel really adventurous, you can even sleep in the hay loft of the ranch’s barn.

If camping out isn’t your thing, Entrance Ranch also offers clean, non-smoking log cabins equipped with kitchen facilities. For those of us that failed home economics, Hinton is just 12 minutes away, with plenty of restaurants to choose from.

There is something for everyone at the Wild Mountain Music Festival. Whether you just come for one night or stay all weekend long, you’ll have a fantastic time with great tunes all around you.

Visitors who aren’t listening to music can enjoy hiking and canoeing at nearby Switzer Provincial Park.
