The Cochrane Food Fest (CFF) is returning, and it’s even bigger this year!
The CFF is a one-day community festival chock full of food, beverages, and entertainment for the whole family. The CFF website mentions, “food and drinks crafted by local vendors, along with live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a marketplace.”

This is the third year for the CFF, and it’s happening at Mitford Park this Sunday, August 13, from noon to 7 PM. But things are a little different this year.
In addition to many food trucks, local restaurants like Aama Nepalese Cuisine, Canadian Brewhouse, and Mehtab East Indian Cuisine will be sharing their delicious dishes. If that’s not enough choice, Big Dog Smokehouse, which specializes in southern BBQ, is coming from Canmore.

“There’ll be lots of great food and drink options from Cochrane and the area…And the smaller portions let you try more things, ”event organizer Kailey Mitchell of Quirk Social told the Cochrane Eagle.
We all need to eat, and The Helping Hands Society, a registered charity in Cochrane, will be there to discuss food security and support programs such as food drives, mentorship, snow removal, food rescue, and more.
Some Cochrane Farmers’ Market vendors will set up a marketplace.
“So it’s not just about eating that day, but more about food in general,” said Mitchell.
There will be no shortage of entertainment at the CFF, including live music throughout the day. There will be performances from Calgary’s Alex Hughes, Austin O’Keefe, Anna Lewis, and Ashley Ghostkeeper. Closing out the event is The Found House Band, a local music group from Cochrane.

For the adults, there will be plenty of beer to go around at the beer garden.
Kids can enjoy MacKay’s Kids Zone activities, like face painting, horse rides, prizes, and old-school picnic games.
“You come, have lunch, have a beer, go get some dinner, have another beer, watch more of the interesting things, and spread it out a little bit,” expressed Mitchell.
To simplify things this year, you can pay for your food at each food stand. And if you want a special CFF blanket to sit on, they’re available at The Social Spot Marketplace.
If this sounds like your kind of event, you may want to bring a bike. Parking spots near Mitford Park are limited, so biking, carpooling, or walking are your safest bet. For more information visit the CFF website.
