About 40 kilometres southwest of Calgary, one well-loved dining joint became the backdrop for an unexpected show.
Shania Twain, renowned for her chart-topping hits like “You’re Still the One” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” graced the Chuckwagon Cafe with her iconic presence.
Off stage, wearing casual clothes and a baseball cap, staff speculated for a minute before it clicked why she looked so familiar!
“I hadn’t realized I was serving the beautiful Shania Twain until she ordered banana cream pie,” server Susan Green told CTV News, recalling the delightful surprise.
Creative Menu Switch-Up
The Chuckwagon Cafe staff expressed their excitement over serving Twain and her husband, who follow a strict vegetarian diet.
Their choice of eggs benedict prompted creative adjustments to the restaurant’s famous beef-centric menu.
With a couple of creative adjustments, the restaurant made some tasty food. Shania and her husband were eating up both literally and figuratively!
After recognizing the singer, Green learned that the couple had just come from Switzerland. Even though they had just been around the Swiss Alps, they still found the foothills around Diamond Valley stunning.
“They were amazing people,” Green gushed. “We want them to come back whenever they want.”
Other customers shared their enthusiasm, and the Cafe posted about the staff with Shania on Instagram.
“Some of our lucky crew got to meet one of their faves yesterday when Canadian country music legend Shania Twain stopped by,” said The Chuckwagon Cafe when sharing the photo on Instagram

Albertans will be treated to even more Shania as she comes to Edmonton to pump up the crowds before the Edmonton Oilers hit the ice in the upcoming Stanely Cup games against the Florida Panthers
Shania Twain and Our Lady Peace are set to rock the stage in pre-game concerts during the finals.
These iconic Canadian music legends will headline free, open-air concerts outside Edmonton’s Rogers Place before Games 3 and 4, according to a joint announcement by the National Hockey League and Rogers on Monday, just hours before Game 2.
Mark your calendar for Our Lady Peace, who will take the stage on Thursday, June 13, before Game 3.
Then, prepare to party with Shania Twain, the star performer, on Saturday, June 15, before Game 4.
Both concerts are free, and no tickets are needed. They kick off at 4 PM in the Ice District’s Scotiabank Fan Park.
Doors to Rogers Place will open at 4:30 PM. for those with game tickets.
The Oilers have entered the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006 and will face the Florida Panthers for the ultimate prize.
At this point, they are the underdogs losing 2 games to the Panthers.
Maybe Shania can get them all fired up to snatch the cup from the Panthers
