Winter Whyte Light Up

When: Nov 30 from 4 to 8 PM

Where: Wilbert Mcintyre Park, 8307 Calgary Trail NW

Cost: Free

This free annual event near Whyte Avenue in Edmonton is not to be missed. It will feature a variety show with circus performers, improv comedy, and live music by Juno-nominated artist Enoch Attey. As the Edmonton area has already been hit with snow, part of the event has been moved into the Fringe Theatre this year. Come celebrate winter with your fellow Edmontonians!

EKO Singers Holiday Concert 

When: Sunday, Dec 8 at 2 PM

Where: Edmonton City Hall, 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square

Cost: Free

The EKO Singers are putting on a free concert inside Edmonton City Hall, ringing in the season with a crowd-pleasing selection of holiday tunes. A children’s choir and a saxophone quartet will join the concert. It’s an event sure to fill you with holiday cheer!

Kids Holiday Gift-Making Workshop

When: Sunday, Dec 1, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Where: The Marketplace at Callingwood Professional Center Lobby, 6650 177 Street NW

Cost: $15 

Kids are invited to let their creativity roam wild at this gift-making workshop. All the supplies they need to make exciting gifts will be included, and an expert crafter will be onsite to guide the children in their craft-making. Get your tickets fast, as this popular event is almost sold out!

Santa Claus Parade in Fort Sask

When: Friday, Dec 6 at 7 PM 

Where: Downtown Fort Saskatchewan 

Cost: Free

Santa Claus is coming to Fort Saskatchewan for the 31st year in a row! He’ll be joined by floats from local businesses and, of course, his elves. Children are asked to bring their letters to Santa to the parade so his elves can gather them and make sure they get to Santa in time for Christmas. We can’t rely on Canada Post for letter delivery this year!

Winterfest Sherwood Park

When: Saturday, Nov 30, from 9 AM to 4 PM 

Where: 401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park 

Cost: Free

This family-friendly event features photo-op-ready princesses, Santa Claus, and dancers. This year’s Winterfest will also feature a silent auction fundraiser!

2024 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train 

When: Wednesday, Dec 11, from 7:30 to 9:15 PM

Where: Downtown Leduc, around 5209 47th Street 

Cost: Free

The CPKC Holiday Train is stopping in downtown Leduc this year! You will be greeted by live music performances, festivities, and an amazingly decorated train. There’ll be an opportunity to donate to the Leduc & District Food Bank, so don’t forget your non-perishable food items!

If Leduc isn’t close to you, or you can’t make it on the 11th, on December 12th, the Holiday Train will also stop in Fort Saskatchewan at 5:15 PM and then in Edmonton at 8:15 PM.

Santa Claus Parade Leduc

When: Saturday, Nov 30 at 6 PM

Where: Downton Leduc, around the Leduc Business Association

Cost: Free 

Leduc’s Santa Claus Parade starts at 6 PM, but the festivities will start well before then! Head to City Center Mall from 5 to 6 PM for free photos with Santa, and wander around the route starting at 5 PM to pick up some free treats and buy light-up wands for the parade!

Breakfast with Santa

When: Saturday, Nov 30, from 9 AM to 1 PM

Where: Blueberry Playschool, 53109 Range Road 15

Cost: $5, free for children under 4 

This will be more than just a pancake breakfast. There’ll be activities for kids, a bake sale, a raffle, and a chance to take photos with Santa!
